as anyone used a balloon kit for wedding decorations? I first saw these really awesome ways of decorating by balloons at a aparty place, but theres no way i could afford them. I found the same htings on ebay that are d.i.y Im a little scared of trying it but it would be great if they worked! Just wondering if anyone has any expierience with this?

Wedding reception decorations... balloons and flowers/ or just flowers? I am trying to organise the decoration of my reception hall, we are having 7 tables and a top table, on each table there will be a 'fish bowl' with white roses and black beads and ribbon, on top of a mirror with 4 tealight candles. On the top table there will be a long row of white roses with some sort of black detail and black pillar candles on each end. Do I need balloons in the room or will this be too much? Also the tables will be moved for the evening reception after the meal but the flowers will still be there, would be nice to have bunches of black and white balloons in the corners of the room/ dance floor maybe?

Engagement party - balloon decorations? My Mom is very generously hosting an engagement party at the local VFW Hall. She doesn't have tons of money and won't let my fiance & I help her out with paying for the party so we really want her to keep it simple & low-key. She thought putting groups of balloons in our wedding colors - black, white & red - around the room would be a good decoration AND the kids that attend could take them home and we're not left with decorations to dismantle and store. I thought that was a great idea. My sister (i swear she is getting to be bridesmaidzilla over MY wedding) says that is cheap & tacky and we should have flower centerpieces. Its a VFW Hall and basically an indoor BBQ (the foods will be salad-y and BBQ-ish), very casual, its just that the party is in August and with older relatives we couldn't risk being outside in stiffling heat so Mom wanted to rent a hall. What do you think of the balloon decoration idea? And anyone have suggestions on giving sis a swift kick?? Kristy - after sis complained about the flowers I am paying for the BMs and myself, I told her to pony-up a grand and I'll gladly change my flowers. what kind of decorations can be done in a catholic wedding reception? like i wanted to tie 2 balloons on any of the chairs of each table...but i think balloons are like b'day celebration...instead of balloons what can i use?.....and also what other decorations can i do??

What do you think about white balloons as decorations? We're considering hanging balloons from trees for the reception, and white ones would probably be the best match with the wedding colors. But I can't get over memories of my hs bf's prom: someone replaced all the balloons for the balloon drop with inflated condoms. I think white balloons are too condom-y. Am I crazy? Its for a evening wedding reception which is not going to be very formal so will be using balloons on the tables, for the balloon weights I will use boxes wrapped to look like gifts to match in with the colour theme and for the favors I will use smaller boxes again wrapped to match the colour scheme. I am having a candyland themed wedding and i need help with decorations, so its fun, but it looks great. Help! My wedding/reception is in a huge big backyard and I need help with decorations we are doing (think original Chocolate Factory when they first walk in to the candy wonderland). I have my grand entrance designed that the guest will walk into. I have 4 ft balloons that will be strung high as large lollipops, and normal sized balloons on the lollipop sticks to go in the ground as smaller lollipops. i have awesome punching balloons (i've cut off the rubber handles) that will float around as gum drops. i have pvc piping that were turned into extra large light lollipops with laterns on top that frame out the back of the reception area, where the head table will be). already have table clothes coved, dresses coved, all the giant stuff what i'm missing is the small details that will pull this off so it doesn't look bad and half done. I don't have a giant budget but i do have a lot of help and a lot skill. Please help with your constructive suggestions. We actually are having a chocolate river its more of a "c" to look like it is beyond where the wedding is and just curved in for a visit.....i did a demo one last weekend to make sure it would work. you guys are so awesome! the mushroom idea is great we were trying to figure out how to make something like that..... as for center pieces i'm still working on that one, as usual there is lots of debate and ideas...just none that are working for me....on each table (because its small - it can't be the centerpiece) but we have candy/food games.... ready set spaghetti, candyland, h.h. hippos pizza party, i even found a willy wonka board game, and an awesome zombie fast food card game. as for people that think i should grow up...i am, and i'm a mom... i've been with my fiance along time we have a famiy... both families are fun, we wanted to do something exiting and different, something that was crazy and us. this is perfect.... my flower girl and brides maids are even walking down the aisle to the peanuts theme song. it may not be traditional, but tradition is not for everyone..marriage is for people mature.. it does not mean that have to be void of imagination and creativity

Does anyone have wedding decoration ideas with out using tape, tacks etc.? I'm the maid of honor for my sister's wedding, and the reception hall she's rented does not allow you to attach anything to the walls. (No tape, tacks, pins, etc.) We are trying to think of some ideas for decorations around the room other than balloons (our brother is allergic to latex and we can't find any mylar or plastic balloons that would make this look more like a wedding than a birthday party.) that's easy on the budget. My Wedding Was Ruined By My Husbands Family!? Should I remain upset at his family? We performed a "Civil Wedding" that took only 3 hrs. His parents arrived half hr late! His cousins arrive 10 min. after the event was over, they did NOT introduce themselfs and still had the audacity to eat! We had no $$ to hire a photagrapher so we just used our digital cameras, all the photos were ruined because his nephews head pooped out in every shot not to mention he wanted the balloon decorations in which a lady handed to him so he wont cry....the stupid balloon came out in the background. Unique ways to decorate for wedding? I've seen some pretty layouts for churches when it comes to weddings(one even had a balloon alter) and I was wondering if some of you out there who have been to or planned weddings had any unique decorations? Do you consider helium balloons as tacky decorations? I found a company that makes beautiful balloons and I think a few tasteful groups would look sweet as decoration at my reception venue. Wedding planning advise..........? Hey, so i am getting married to the love of my life next year in Feb. We are planning on a $20000.00 budget, well around that, but we are spending $6000 of that on the honeymoon :P. I have brought allot of things for the wedding off ebay, i told my SIL and she screwed her face up at me saying thats a bit cheap and nasty. Parents 25th wedding anniversary? My parents 25th wedding anniversary is coming up soon, and I've started planning it. I have a brother, but we're both in our very early 20s and we do not have the resources or money to throw a huge celebration for them. The main gift, I know traditionally it's supposed to be silver, and it's normally something like a clock, plates, glasses, etc., but I find those types of gifts get thrown in the back or on a shelf to collect dust. I was thinking of a digital photo frame, and loading it with photos throughout the years, complete with a removeable silver frame. Then of course the balloons, decorations, etc. Does anyone have any ideas for 25th anniversaries? They're not exactly the type that enjoys a huge crowd so something quiet would be nice. Planning a surprise 25th wedding anniversary party? My boyfriends parents are celebrating there 25 anniversary in july and I started planning a surprise party for the 14th. I have a hall rented and have invited over 160 people so its not a small party. I have some ideas for food and decorations and were using the trad. black and silver. I planned on making the food myself but im not sure what to make thats easy to feed that many people and im not sure how much to make! Im also not sure what to use for table centerpieces? Wedding decoration help?!?!?!? Ok my fiance and I are using ballons to cover the ceiling of our church gym. We dont want the beams to be seen. Anyway our wedding is not un July, but the decorators wanted to know what we were going to do for the ceiling and I was thinking of going ahead and ordering the balloons, but I was wondering does anyone know how long balloons stay good or how it takes them to dry rot? DIY ideas. please help. What kind of decorations to do? We are having our wedding ceremony at an old church that was turned into a night club. just the ceremony. We need ideas of what to decorate it with. We already know that we do not want an arch, so we are having two large candle stands on each side to frame the "alter". We don't want balloons or anything that would look cheap. Our theme is Once upon a time till death do us part. Our colors are dark red and purple, with lavender and regular red accents.

Wedding decoration ideas??? What are some nice ideas to decorate a reception hall? We have our table centerpieces already, a tonne of tulle, a lighted arch and I am trying to think of ways to use it all in addition to something at or behind the head table BESIDES balloons (my cousins all did the ballon arches, etc.) and those stupid honeycomb bells. I also don't want the two hearts with plastic puffy things and the couples names in the middle. Our hall is nice (a church basement but has been painted a nice stark white - no wood paneling - with a disco ball in the middle) with pillars that can be wrapped in tulle and lights. Any great ideas for the head table? Our colors are harvest gold and espresso and my dress and accessories are ivory. Thank you all for your suggestions!! We will have potted plants (in pots painted and decorated in our colors) at the end of each table and the centre pieces are "gumball" machines. It's a terra cotta pot turned upside down with a rose bowl (with a falt edge on top) glued on top and then the little saucer you would set a pot on is the lid! The pots and lids will all be done in the wedding colors too and filled with gold and brown wrapped candy. I should mention too the hall doesn't allow candles! What are fairy lights??

what quirky finishing touches do people reccommend? I need some help on wedding ideas with mossy oak and pink as colors/theme!!!!? The wedding is this June and I still need to have a few more ideas for the wedding. Our colors/theme is brown, pink and mossy oak. Since mossy oak things are so expensive we have added the brown to help it out. Now I have candles as centerpieces with this mossy oak wallpaper wrapped around them, and I am making my ring bearer pillow outta mossy oak fabric. 45th Wedding Anniversary Party Ideas? on 9th August we are holding a party for my parents 45th wedding anniversary. What theme would you give my wedding? Ive decided that my wedding is going to something like a party but a little more formal but still fun and laid back. My colours are: Purple Black and Silver Centrepieces are going to be white hurricane lamps (rectangular shaped) with candles and probably lavender (which will be the only flowers) - im thinking of getting silver glitter spray paint and slightly spraying them also im going to scatter purple and silver foiled hearts down the tables. wedding chair covers? our wedding colours are ivory and fuchsia we have chair covers included in our package and have been asked what colours we would like. our tables have fuchsia and ivory decorations(favour boxes,napkins with ties and balloons etc) we are unsure as to whether to have just plain ivory covers so as not to take the attention away from the tables or to have ivory covers and fuchsia ribbons. any advise?

Suggestions for 25th Anniversary decorations? I was wondering other than balloons what is some ideas for a 25th surprise wedding anniversary? We were also thinking about having table center pieces, but don't think candles would be a good idea cause it will be outside in June (afraid they will keep blowing out)... flowers could be good but expensive. sisters wedding in 3 weeks? Me and my sisters arent as close as what I d like to be, she is 28 and im 23. She has been planning her wedding and I am trying to help her as much as I can but I always feel as though its never enough. I booked the restaurant and VIP for the club so had to arrange inviations... So far I had to buy photo paper, coloured ink, 15 1st class stamps, envelopes for the hen night invitations. with this I designed a smart elegant invitation that took me 2 nights to design and also enclosed the menu for restaurant. I am now arranging the decorations for the function room on sat, sash, balloons, banners etc. and also im doing all the favours for wedding guests which i am doing this week to sample and make sure the amount would be enough for 60 guests. I am making home made tablet. Do you think I am doing enough as I feel not apprecited by my sister at all??

I need help with decorating for my wedding thats 2 & 1/2 weeks away??? I am on a really tight budget and I am getting married August 16th, I have no idea how to decorate the hall that we rented, we just rented a Community Hall and there are about 65 guests including us and the wedding party. I need help decorating but don't have money for fancy things, I made the centre peices my self, gotten plastic table cloths, etc...,,,I dont have money for expesive decorations. Any ideas?? Cause apparently my ideas of streamers, balloons, (both in moderation) a banner thats says something about wedding, and those paper wedding bells are TACKY.....thats what i've been told anyways PLEASE HELP????

I need Reception help- Food and Decorations. We're doing a spaghetti dinner. We count on about 50-75 guests. It's going to be a spaghetti buffet. We'll have marinara and meat sauce. I also think we're going to do an linguine pasta with alfredo and broccoli. We'll have salad and garlic bread. we're having a wedding cake for dessert. We'll also probably have a fruit tray and a chocolate fountain. Does this sound like a pretty well spanned out menu? It's going to be in a community building. We're going to show a video of the ceremony to guests. Decoration wise, I do know we'll have streamers and balloons, and I'm planning on doing a balloon arch behind our sweetheart table, unless I can figure out a good canopy idea. We have centerpieces already, and I probably won't be able to attach anything to the walls. I still need ways to transform the room from plain and boring into magical and amazing, with VERY limited funds (like, $50 tops). I also need buffet table ideas, AND if anyone has any experience with a spaghetti dinner for a large group of people, your input would be VERY appreciated.

Wedding/Bridal shower help...... please Is this a cheesy idea? I have the decorations (which include fake rose petals, heart candles, heart candy dishes, heart balloons, etc.). It seemed this was the time to year to find stuff like that kinda cheap. I will also be having several dozen roses there for decoration. I am thinking the whole theme could be flowers and hearts, but I wanna know what other people think. I wanted to go with something similar to the wedding, which is being done in polka dots and hearts. Do you think this is okay??? The colors for the shower are red, pink, white, and a tad bit of silver. For the wedding it is red, white, black, and silver.

How do I make my wedding super unique? I am currently planning my wedding! Yea! My fiance and I want to have a unique wedding. We don't want a typical cookie-cutter wedding. Details so far: Colors: hot pink and orange (my favorite and his) Place: Church (not unique) Reception: Cheesecake and coffee (wedding cake, nuts, and mints) Music: I am going to sing to him at some point in time during the wedding. (From this moment) NO piano or organ...uck. Wedding march will be played by two ladies with bells. Time: August-6:30pm TONS of candles, and no overhead lights. (church has lights that line the walls about 20ft above the floor and point toward the ceiling.) I don't want many flowers. (to overdone.) Any suggestions as to how I can do unique decorations and/or non-traditional ideas to incorporate into our special day? I was thinking about using a ton of balloons, but my fiance isn't sure about that idea.

Starting a wedding planning business. Help!!? Hi, It has always been my dream to do this and I am asking for any help and tips to do so. How does it work? How do I go about doing so? How much should I charge? I have sorted out some courses I can go on to gain some more experience though. I have worked in decoration for weddings before, balloons / flowers etc but never actually planned one. Too much black for a wedding? please read and give opinions. ? Ceremony My dress-white Groom-black suit, burgandy shirt, black tie Bridesmaids-champaigne dresses with black sash and straps Groomsmen-black slacks, white shirt, burgandy tie Flowergirl-black dress with burgandy lace sash Ringbearer-same as the groomsmen No decorations in the church....its gorgeous plain! Just some tea lights behind my fiance and I. Reception Linens-white Centerpieces-half the tables with tall vase filled a third of the way with red and clear stones, filled with water and two tea lights floating on top along with a 2x3 picture of us in a cute glass frame. Other half will have a small mirror with a white candle on it holding down a red, a black, and a champaigne tiered balloon arrangement. All centerpieces will have rose petals and tea lights around them. So what do you think....too much black? Thanks Flower girls dress-For some odd reason every store in my area has a large amount of black clothing and NO white! It bothered me but then we added the lace and it looks cute. The flowers are dark red roses.
