Wedding Head Table Decorations Knowledge Base
Need creative ideas for wedding reception decorations? My brother is getting married in June. His fiance and her mother have asked me to help with the wedding reception. (particularly the decorations) She is wanting a summer(ish) themed wedding. She knows she wants bird of paradise for her flower. She also wants the colors found in that flower to be her wedding colors. (yellow, orange, light blue-ish purple) Sorry for all the detail. My question is does anyone have any CREATIVE ideas for things like centerpieces at the guest tables and head table decorations. Also she wants to have a unique place for the guests to set their gifts. (not necessarily a table!) eg. a winter wedding guests could place their gifts under a christmas tree. Thanks in advance for your ideas. I really need them!
Head table decorations?!? My wedding is coming up quick, 4 months to go. I am trying to decide how I want to decorate the head table. My colors are red, white, and silver, and there are 14 people at the head table. I found some tall circular vases that I like, http://www.100candles.com/Images/Items/9inch_highx3inch_diameter_glass_vase.jpg I was thinking about filling them with water, putting gems at the bottom, and having floating candles at the top and have one in between every person at the table. Is that too many? Should I do ever 2 people? Then, I wanted to get a longer skinny square vase http://www.wholesaleflowersandsupplies.com/images/4_thin_rectangle_vase.jpg And have that in the middle of the head table, with the red stones and water with silver floating candles.. What else should I have up there? More little tea light candles? Rose petals scattered? Any Ideas? What did your head table look like?
Head table decoration ideas?? I'm getting married this October and I'm now starting to figure out how to decorate the reception. I am doing tall vases with flowers at each table and probably some candles too, but I don't know how I'm going to decorate the head table? I have a very big wedding party so we are going to do something like this: http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b48/Beiler/2tierheadtable-1.jpg My florist said to maybe put some tall vases on the head table also, but they are a bit pricy so was trying to think of something different...I liked this idea: http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b48/Beiler/lombandcent046.jpg Do any of you know where I could get that glass "container" I guess you could call it that they have the floating candles in? I have no idea where I could find one and have been looking online. I was thinking about maybe putting that in the center of each head table. A friend of mine got married last September and she just bought a few vases and when her bridesmaids walked in she just had them put their bouquets in the vases when they got up to the head table...have any of you done this? I think that could save a little bit of money? If any of you have any good ideas on how to decorate the head table please let me know, I'm lost! Thanks in advance
Wedding Decor Help!!!! Please help.? I'm trying to find out how do I attach tulle to a head table for a wedding reception. How to make it say, when you drap it. These are some pictures of what I am talking about http://www.rosesforweddings.com/RealWeddings2007/April%2028%202007%20ChristyGant/102_0091.JPG http://www.creative-celebrations.co.uk/assets/images/gallery/large_headtable.jpg http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.weddingdecoratorblog.com/images/DSC00104.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.weddingdecoratorblog.com/long-head-table-decorations/&usg=__A3weBR3kGakxae5Zn0mIsG7d4EQ=&h=876&w=1600&sz=993&hl=en&start=12&um=1&tbnid=eNVD5ob-Rp36UM:&tbnh=82&tbnw=150&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dhead%2Btable%2Btulle%2Bdecor%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Dactive%26sa%3DN%26um%3D1
I am having a candyland themed wedding and i need help with decorations, so its fun, but it looks great. Help! My wedding/reception is in a huge big backyard and I need help with decorations we are doing (think original Chocolate Factory when they first walk in to the candy wonderland). I have my grand entrance designed that the guest will walk into. I have 4 ft balloons that will be strung high as large lollipops, and normal sized balloons on the lollipop sticks to go in the ground as smaller lollipops. i have awesome punching balloons (i've cut off the rubber handles) that will float around as gum drops. i have pvc piping that were turned into extra large light lollipops with laterns on top that frame out the back of the reception area, where the head table will be). already have table clothes coved, dresses coved, all the giant stuff what i'm missing is the small details that will pull this off so it doesn't look bad and half done. I don't have a giant budget but i do have a lot of help and a lot skill. Please help with your constructive suggestions. We actually are having a chocolate river its more of a "c" to look like it is beyond where the wedding is and just curved in for a visit.....i did a demo one last weekend to make sure it would work. you guys are so awesome! the mushroom idea is great we were trying to figure out how to make something like that..... as for center pieces i'm still working on that one, as usual there is lots of debate and ideas...just none that are working for me....on each table (because its small - it can't be the centerpiece) but we have candy/food games.... ready set spaghetti, candyland, h.h. hippos pizza party, i even found a willy wonka board game, and an awesome zombie fast food card game. as for people that think i should grow up...i am, and i'm a mom... i've been with my fiance along time we have a famiy... both families are fun, we wanted to do something exiting and different, something that was crazy and us. this is perfect.... my flower girl and brides maids are even walking down the aisle to the peanuts theme song. it may not be traditional, but tradition is not for everyone..marriage is for people mature.. it does not mean that have to be void of imagination and creativity
Decorating a fall head table..What would you suggest? Okay so I am having a fall wedding in October...This Oct. so it doesn't leave much time...I need some idea's for decorating the head table without it looking tacky...So the other decorations I am using for the other tables is fall colored short pillar candle's in clear glass container's and gluing fall leaves around the outside of it. I am also using as the centerpieces hollowed out 6" pumpkins with flower arranged in them...We are alternating the pumpkin arrangements with the candle's...So what would you suggest for head table...Keep in mind where we are getting married there is a old stone fire place with a mantle....the reception is in the same room as we are getting married in. Thanks for you help!

Will I save a lot of money for my wedding...? ...if I don't decorate an already pretty church at all for the wedding (saves money and cleanup) and just keep it simple for the centerpieces at the reception? Any cheap ideas for centerpieces? I already know candles are cheap but candles are boring. Also what about decorations for the head table? Do I have to decorate the buffet and cake table? I'm not very creative and I would just rather keep it simple, even if it does look a little boring. Thanks!
websites to find wedding stuff? what are good web sites to find wedding stuff like isle decoration and backdrops or head table for the reception decoration...?
Wedding decoration ideas??? What are some nice ideas to decorate a reception hall? We have our table centerpieces already, a tonne of tulle, a lighted arch and I am trying to think of ways to use it all in addition to something at or behind the head table BESIDES balloons (my cousins all did the ballon arches, etc.) and those stupid honeycomb bells. I also don't want the two hearts with plastic puffy things and the couples names in the middle. Our hall is nice (a church basement but has been painted a nice stark white - no wood paneling - with a disco ball in the middle) with pillars that can be wrapped in tulle and lights. Any great ideas for the head table? Our colors are harvest gold and espresso and my dress and accessories are ivory. Thank you all for your suggestions!! We will have potted plants (in pots painted and decorated in our colors) at the end of each table and the centre pieces are "gumball" machines. It's a terra cotta pot turned upside down with a rose bowl (with a falt edge on top) glued on top and then the little saucer you would set a pot on is the lid! The pots and lids will all be done in the wedding colors too and filled with gold and brown wrapped candy. I should mention too the hall doesn't allow candles! What are fairy lights??
How do you make a small amount of people in a HUGE venue seem more intimate? We booked this amazing hall but the problem is it's for 500 people and our wedding is like 70! Should we put 6 people were table ( classic round tables that fit 8-10 ) or will that look to sparse? I just don't want to have like 4 tables and a head table LOL Any ideas for decoration this place to fill it up? 10 points for sure!
Anything that pops into your head? I need any sort of random ideas and advice on my wedding. Gice me anything that pops into your head on any of the following ideas: -Decorations -Table Centerpieces -A bra to wear with a gown that's lowcut in the back -Hairstyle -Shoes with no heel or short heels -Pink, white or black bridemaids shoes -Nice honeymoon ideas.

I just don't want to have like 4 tables and a head table LOL Any ideas for decoration this place to fill it up? 10 points for sure! The way the venue is set up is the head table is aboe the dancefloor which is in the middle if the room and tables on each side....so if we out tables on one seide the head table is kinda off the dance floor is in the middle with the head table above it ...like thats how the venue is set up its got lights above and its wood not carpet head table is set up where it faces the dancefloor so it would face opposite if tables are only on one side
Table runners or no table runners? My wedding is in May and deciding on decorations is driving me crazy! I know table runners is a little thing to fuss about but i guess it comes with being a bride lol. I am having black table cloths, black seat covers with fuschia sashes for the guest tables. For the head bridal table I am having white table cloth, seat covers and fuschia sashes.. Should I also have fuschia table runners? What do you personally think looks nicer? I have been thinking about this way too long and just want to make a decision. Oh btw, the guest tables are round tables seating 8
Warning! Very long, but I need to know where I stand in all this? Am I behind, ahead, what do you think? My wedding is in February of next year and this is what I have done. -Got all the vendors selected, except for the musician, which will be used through the church once we meet with the pastor next month. -I bought all the accessories for my dress, including garter. I got the guest pen, (and extra pen for the guest book if the other one goes out), all the centerpieces for all the tables including decorations and lights for the head table. -I got the flower girl petals and basket, and ring bearer pillow. -BM's selected their dresses and they are ordered. I already have my dress (in my parent's closet so Fiance can't sneak and look at it at our home.) -I got the cake cutting set, bubbles, engraved flutes, pew clips, white pew bows (that I don't like so I ordered purple ones online and I'm expecting them in the mail.) -I got the usher gifts, the BM gifts, and the parent's gifts. They are almost all wrapped, but I'm still trying to find small purple bows (our colors are violet and silver.) -We already selected the style of cake and bought all the cake decorations and finalized with the baker. -I got the favor boxes all picked and bought, I just gotta buy the hersheys kisses and have them done by me and the BM's (closer to the wedding date for freshness) -We already got our engagement photos done. -We did our tasting for the reception and selected our meal choice and signed the catering contract. -I got the aisle runner and I'm ordering white small umbrellas online for each person in the bridal party in case of rain/snow. -We looked at invitations at the place we know we are going to get them, and I kind of have an idea of what I want, we whittle the choices down to 10 designs we will browse through later. WHAT I DON'T HAVE DONE: -I got a head start on my emergency bridal kit, but I still need to buy more stuff. -I still don't know the time of the ceremony/reception since I still have to meet with the pastor next month. -I don't know what songs I want for the DJ...or what songs I want at the ceremony. -I want outdoor photos in the snow, but I haven't sent photos to the photographer yet that I want. -I am not clear on where we want the Rehearsal Dinner, or what we are going to get. I have some ideas though -We still haven't got tuxes, or the flower girl/ring bearer stuff, bc my fiance is dragging his feet not wanting to call his older bro to ask him to have the niece and nephew as flowergirl/ringbearer bc he doesn't know what to say, they haven't talked much in years and he lives super far away so it's awkward for him, they get along but they are kinda like strangers in a way. -I still don't have all the addresses/phone numbers for the guest list...waiting on fiance's mom to get all that stuff together. She said she would get it done a week ago but I realize it's 40 people she's gotta look up so I will be nice and give her time. -I don't have a spa picked out yet for my hair/makeup/nails. -I don't know when or how the ushers will roll out the aisle runner. -I still need to show the florist all my decorations, tuxes, flowergirl/ringbearer outfits so she knows what to do to match the flowers...this for sure has to be done by October. -I haven't done any weightloss/tanning stuff yet. -Haven't paid off all the vendors yet, but we are making payments. -I also still need to buy stuff to set up the icicle lights at the head table. -Still don't know what to do for an outline of the reception, as in, how to do the order of things, I'm thinking meal, then dance, then cake cutting. IDK? OKAY! SO what do you think? Am I behind, ahead, what do you think? I have 10 more months until the wedding. Thanks! HAHA messykat I forgot about that!!

Need some advice on decorations for my reception!?!? I am getting married in less than 2 weeks and have been so busy that I haven't been able to sit and figure out how I want to decorate the reception hall. We are having it at a banquet hall in a hotel so the room is very nice so I won't have to go "overboard", but I still want to do some things. Like how to decorate my cake table, I already know how I'm going to decorate the head table. I also have the florist doing my centerpieces...just need some creative ideas for anything??? I've been going to a lot of weddings this year and they had so many cool ideas and I am just lost...if any of you know of any websites or have any pictures that would be very helpful I would greatly appreciate it! If you need to know, my wedding color is latte.
What is the tackiest idea/suggestion someone has given you when planning your wedding? Yesterday I was with my aunt & future MIL looking for last minute decorations for the reception. My aunt suggested a large grapevine wreath to hang on the wall above the head table. About that time, MIL's sister called ... heard of the wreath idea & told MIL that she has a few wreaths we can use. I think great, one less thing to buy. Well, later on that evening we meet up w/MIL's sister and she gives me the wreaths.... they are Christmas wreaths! The evergreen ones w/pinecones, lights & big red velvet bows! (Our colors are lt. blue BM dresses with pink, yellow & orange flowers) That's not all ~ they were (at one point) live wreaths! So, of course by now they are incredibly dry and brittle, dropping needles like crazy and are turning brown in some spots (Why they aren't more brown or falling apart more is a mystery to me) I just politely said "thank you" & told her I would show them to my fiancé so we could make a joint decision on them. What else can you say? ;)
Help.......? I am planning my wedding that is to take place October 11, 2008, I have nearly every detail {well not nearly}; down to a science, but I cannot for the life of me think of any nice decorations for the head table, where 9 will be seated {yes I know its off 1}; this is a daytime ceremony and reception so I dont want candles ANYWHERE, flowers are so typical I want something different, it took me nearly all day but I came up with a great idea for the guests table centerpieces, but now I cant think of one for my own, please help..... Thank you
How much money can you save by having a wedding at your home? I'm very blessed in that my family has a nice big house + yard to have an at-home wedding (nice tent in the backyard?) anyway, I figure I will have to pay money for catering for the 100-150 people coming, and I only want to buy flowers for having around the "altar" area. Aside from those costs...what else is there? I guess I need to pay for tables/tent/decorations for people to sit at, and how do I deal with getting an open bar there for people? I think this will add about 100 per head, correct? (the open bar, that is) thanks, Im really just getting ideas ATM, no wedding date is set.
What to do with the bridal bouquet if you don't throw it? I am not going to throw my bouquet at my wedding. I'm wondering if I can put it in a vase and - viola - a decoration for the head table or guest book table (we're not doing centerpieces). Has anyone done this? What did you do with your bouquet if you didn't throw it? It seems like I'd want to put the poor flowers in some water! We also have a relative who passed away recently - she was engaged. Would it be appropriate to put my bouquet into a memorial vase for her that says "in loving memory"....? After all, I'm only going to hold the bouquet for about 20 minutes... (The wedding and reception are in the same place.) I'm not going to throw anything. I feel it's demeaning to single women to expect them to lunge at the chance to be the next married. This always embarrassed me when I was single.
Need ideas on decorating a church gym for my wedding...on an extremely tight budget? My head is about ready to explode. I am to be married on the tenth of January in our Church's gym. We chose it because it is completely free, plus we will have the use of the kitchen, table cloths and nursery. The only problem is, we are on extremely tight budget. So far I have the centerpieces taken care of and we have bought tons of clear xmas lights to use for decoration. Our colors are pretty easy...several different shades of blue and then white and silver. Sort of going by a wintery theme. I have an aisle runner...other than that...NOTHING! I have to create some kind of arch that we can stand under as well. PLEASE HELP! I am lost! I just want it to be really nice.

Why does this code bring up a calendar of the month of October, 2005? It is supposed to render a calendar of the current month and year, not october of last year. What I mean is that the dates line up with the days of the week wrong. Even if it does say "2006" at the top of the calendar. See what I mean? October 20th is a friday, not a thursday.

The pictures from the disposable cameras will be developed with some made copies so that I can give these out in the Thank You cards that will be mailed a week later. these are some of the Hawaiian songs i was thinking: Liliu E Lei Momi It's Just An Old Hawaiian Custom My Little Grass Shack Sweet Leilani Hukilau Hawaiian Hula Eyes Little Brown Gal Hawaiian Wedding Song Beyond The Reef On The Beach My Yellow Ginger Hawaiian War Chant Lovely Hula Hands Lei Momi Aloha Oe The Hula Hoop Song Surfing USA Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride Don Ho EDM John Cruz-"Hurricane," "Shine On," "Sitting in Limbo," "Island Style" Hawaiian Style Band-"Live a Little" Sean Na'auao-"Fish & Poi" Jake Shimabukuro-"Angel," "Bodysurfing," "Floaters" Na Leo-"Local Boys," "Hawaiian Eyes," "'E Hihiwai" Amy Hanaiali'i Gilliom-"Haleiwa Hula" Na Wai - Oh Boy Koauka - One Woman Man Maoli - No One Ka'ena - You Say Koauka - Up, Down, Side to Side Living in a Sovereign Land by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole E ala E by Israel "IZ" Kamakawiwo`ole Hokule'a Star of Gladness by IZ Sweet Cherry Bomb by Nuff Sedd Drop Baby Drop by The Manao Company Kaulana Na Pua - Na Waihooluu o ke (Na Wai) Why You - Na Wai Featuring Fiji Israel IZ Kamakawiwo'ole - Ulili E Keali'i Reichel - E O Mai- 'Auhea Wale Ana 'Oe Rebel Souljahz - Darling Angel ^are these good? i would also like to hire a hula dancer or flame thrower to perform and be at the party for about a 1/2 hour, but it might be a lot of money. how much do you think it would cost? is there even anyone who would do that in new jersey? if you are one/know anyone in central nj, please let me know! am i missing anything? i want this party to really be perfect! even the littlest idea is appreciated! need help with: ideas about food other Hawaiian drinks decoration ideas MUSIC IDEAS! thanks in advance!!
