The outdoor wedding reception: Any tips, suggestions, ideas, horror stories, success stories etc? I am STILL throwing around ideas for my wedding reception (our families range from being fairly elegant to super casual, which can make it difficult), but I am thinking of sort of an outdoor, picnic/BBQ in a park near a river. Very picturesque. Still, I am worried about cakes melting, bugs, decor, weather, you know the usual. Any tips, suggestions, ideas, horror stories of outdoor weddings, or success stories of outdoor weddings (mostly receptions) that you have heard of?

Can anyone suggest a unique (possibly outdoor) wedding/reception venue outside of philly? It will be a low-key, short (2-3 hour?) affair, maybe 50 people. I'm thinking a "dessert only" or "cocktails/fingerfood" reception immediatly following the ceremony...so maybe a very pretty church with an interesting outside area? Or a garden...museum..or lake venue? Cost is def. a consideration. Thanks all!!!! (Delaware or Chester county area)

I'm getting married August 2nd. We are doing a casual late evening outdoor wedding/reception.? We are trying to be as cost effective as possible!!! Any ideas for unique favors that I could do myself? DJs that dont charge an arm & a leg? I stil don't have a dress! Ugh!!! We have 2 children together (5 & 6 months) and we just bought our first home this month! The wedding date is sneaking up on me!

what if it rains on my wedding day with an outdoor reception? so my wedding isnt for a while but what do i do if it rains or is really windy on my wedding day? I am planing an outdoor reception, at a local outdoor recreation area... i'm on a tight budget but i would like to be prepared.

Outdoor wedding and reception in Oregon.? So the plan was to have our wedding at a waterfall, however I have been searching and searching and have failed in finding one that meets our criteria. So while that hope is still on the table, I'm starting to view it as not being entirely realistic. The points in the waterfall wedding were a) I LOVE waterfalls and b) not having to pay for a venue, just the possibility of paying for a permit [very cheap]. So does anyone know of a lovely park or place for an outdoor picnic reception in Oregon? A place that we could hold the wedding without having to pay a venue fee. Thanks so much for your help!
