Chicago area wedding reception locations? I am looking for a beautiful wedding reception location under $5,000 in the Chicago area and suburbs. My only other request is that it be all-inclusive (in other words, that it offers catering, etc.). Other than that, I'm open to ideas (indoors, outdoors, wherever!). Your suggestions are greatly appreciated!
Small wedding reception in Chicago and Suburbs? Any nice steakhouses or Italian restaurants? My fiance and I are planning a possible wedding this late summer/early fall, and because of the economy and cost of living, the way to truly live is no longer enjoyable... So, we've reduced our plans and now want a wedding of about 40-50 people. Any suggestions? We've ruled Maggiano's out.. they're overpriced.. and if people want liqour they can buy their own.. Please help! Thanks in advance! :)
Any ideas for a relatively inexpensive wedding/reception site in Chicago? I've looked at the Lincoln Park Conservatory and a few other places, but I'm really overwhelmed with so many resources out there. I realize a wedding in Chicago probably shouldn't be in the same sentence as 'inexpensive', but there must me some frugal ways to get by! We want an outdoor ceremony and a fun and informal reception, and don't want to spend a ton of money. We'd rather spend a ton on the honeymoon;)
Downtown Chicago Wedding Reception Venue...? Hi..I'm looking for a wedding reception venue for about 200-250 people thats downtown Chicago. I don't have a problem with it being in a nice hotel. Hopefully it could have a view of Lake Michigan or Navy Pier...or be located on lakeshore drive...So if anyone has any recommendations I would appreciate it....Thank You!!!!
Does anyone need an affordable but elegant place for their Chicago Wedding Reception? Hi, this is going to sound weird but if anyone is in need of a nice place for thier reception please let me know. I found a really great place for 200 people for around $5k (which I found out is almost unheard of in Chicago). Basically, I booked the place for August 2, 2008 but now my wedding plans have changed. If you haven't found a place yet this would be great for you. I need to find someone to transfer it to for a future date. Let me know if your interested. Its the Serbian Socail Center in Lansing. Its right off of 185th & Stony Island. Easy to get to. The room is gorgeous. for more info or other questions you can email me at walc_net2@yahoo.com

I need a clean, inexpensive COMEDIAN or MAGICIAN for my wedding reception in Chicago Milwaukee area? We are having a lunch wedding reception at a local museum in Kenosha, WI which is located between Milwaukee and Chicago, on Sat. Sept. 9th, 2006. We have a group of 80 guests who wont dance, and we wont have a band or a DJ. However, we would still like to present entertainment for the afternoon. We are looking for a COMEDIAN or a MAGICIAN of sort to entertain at our wedding reception for $500 or less. Entertainment needs to be relatively clean and family friendly, but mainly to entertain the adults. Any referals?

Wedding Reception in Chicago? Has anyone ever used the Parkway Ballroom (4455 S MLK Dr Chicago) or Michelle's Ballroom (California and Belmont) for a wedding reception or any type of party? I am going to view each of them tomorrow and wanted sometype of review of them.
Vegas Marriage or Chicago Wedding? My fiancee and I are at odds as to where to get married: He wanted to do Vegas and I wanted to have somewhat of a traditional wedding in Chicago. He's the only son and the youngest child of his family (he has two sisters) and I'm the oldest of eight (seven surviving) and the first to get married. My family lives in Arkansas and are willing to drive to Chicago, but my mother is afraid to fly and the drive to Vegas from Arkansas will be tiring. At any rate, option one was to get married in Vegas and have a nice reception in Chicago or have the wedding and reception in Chicago. What would you do? My mother is a hemodialysis patient, so if we were to have a wedding we would have to schedule around her dialysis. It's not that she wouldn't make the trip!
Good place for a wedding/reception in Chicago? We want to find one place in the city (not a church) to have our wedding and the reception. We'd rather not do a hotel, if possible. We looked into Cafe Brauer but it looks a little out of our price range. Thoughts?
Are you familiar with the "dollar dance" at Filipino wedding receptions? I've seen it once when I attended a wedding in Chicago (groom is Pinoy; the bride is Amer.-German). As the newlyweds danced, the guests pinned money to their clothes. wow! lots of money collected. I've heard it's also being practised in some provinces in the Philippines. Your thoughts, please.
Small wedding in Chicago or Chicago area or Northwest Indiana? We want to have a very small intimate wedding 20-40 people. All candlelit somewhere in Chicago, the suburbs or Northwest Indiana. I thought maybe at the forest perserve or old small church. Do you know any locations?? I'm not into the hotel wedding or receptions. THANK YOU
a unique wedding reception site chicago Il & suburbs? my daughter is getting married next year and wants to have a cocktail reception somewhere really different. it's in september, so we cannot count on the weather to do an outdoor one. she also plans on having the ceremony at the same place. anyone know of something unique and different that isn't outrageously expensive? we would prefer north, northwest, west suburbs of chicago, but chicago would be fine too. thank you.
Wedding venues in Chicago? I'm trying to find small restaurants around chicago that will do small wedding receptions? Any suggestions? I'm on an extra tight budget.
wedding reception in west chicago? My fiance and I are getting married in August at his grandparent's house (which is in west chicago/carol stream/winfield area). We don't want the reception at their house so we need to find a place to have it somewhere close by (my family is traveling and I don't want them to drive all over). Any ideas? We're on a very tight budget but I know this can work! :)
Looking for a chic & modern banquet hall for a wedding ceremony & reception in Chicago & the nearby suburbs? Every banquet hall seems to have the same overly draped layout. I am looking for a nice chic place that doesn't have pounds and pounds of cloth hanging all over on the walls and chairs. Looking for a place with a cleaner look preferably no carpet. If anyone has any links please post them. It should be a banquet hall or restaurants. While odd places like museums and art galleries fit the look they can get too expensive having to go to outside vendors for food.Any suggestions are appreciated. Okay...thanks for the links. Those places are fabulous but they are too pricey. I was hoping to find a banquet hall where the food is prepared on site so it comes out less than having to bring it in for the other places. I'm fine with the burbs too. I know the city is very expensive. Anything within $4000-5000 including food in the price.
Reception Sites and Great caterers for a wedding in Richmond, VA? I am originally from Chicago and my fiance and I are getting married in Richmond. Any suggestions for the Chicago burbs wedding? I live in the western Chicago burbs (Dupage Co.) and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions/personal experience in the area. Any places that seemed extremely rude or just bad all around. What about great places (reception, stores, whatever). How much did your wedding cost you (and how long ago was it)? Any recommendations would help greatly. Also, thanks, but I know about theknot.com I heard of a butterfly garden somewhere near the city. Anyone know anything about that?
