A friend of mine is looking for a venue to ost her reception at, she is looking for a historical building/house that she can hire for the night that has nice surrounds for pictures etc...she will also be having the vows at the site, can anyone rcommend a suitable place (she does not want the typical wedding venues available) she is on a budget and is looking at a casual occasion possibly cocktail party, finger food or buffet style ...not a formal sitdown thanks brisbane, AUSTRALIA

Wedding Receptions? I'm getting married in October 2008, I am starting to look at possible places to hold the wedding/reception. Does anybody who lives in northern virginia know of any good places? My fiance and I are a more low key couple. I have great taste, but really don't want anything over the top. Price really isn't an issue, but again I don't want some place that is over done, something mellow with more of a down to earth feel. We want the wedding indoors and an outdoor/indoor reception with a buffet. Any ideas? We've come to the conclusion that we have two pretty distinct groups of people and a single wedding reception just won't work if we do get married.
