Weddings Reception Decorations

How do I word a wedding invitation for one ceremony and three receptions?

My partner and I are originally from different countries and we are planning on having wedding receptions in these two countries as well where we are residing now. We were thinking of doing a wedding invitation for the ceremony which will be in the country we are residing now and also include a reception card which will have the three reception venues in the three countries and give a choice in the RSVP card to tick which one they will be attending. Would like to hear if you have been in a similar position, and if so what did you do?

  1. Sounds like too much. Just include the local reception RSVP, and do seperate invites for the other country parties.
  2. You should be doing them separately - yes, more work for you, but those are the circumstances. Have your main invitation be the one for the ceremony and reception where you are residing now, because that's your true wedding. Then print up some sort of invitations for the other two, with the different reception info on them.
  3. I agree that you should do it separately. People get so stupid and confused when it's time to RSVP for something. I had people RSVP for our wedding without even filling out the card. They just wrote their names and sent it back. Our response card was the 'delete as appropriate' style and it stated that on the card. Only about 10% of the guests actually did that though... most circled, crossed out the wrong thing, or just wrote on there. I can only imagine the confusion with three receptions in different countries to choose from!
