Weddings Reception Decorations

Opinions on my Wedding reception table decorations....ideas welcome!?

My colors are white and pink. I was thinking of doing Pink roses in a clear square vases, with rose petals on the tables with votive candles. I was also thinking of putting small black and white photos of my fiance and i on the tables as well for decoration. Any cute ideas or thoughts? Thanks! 1. order pink orchids and orchid blossoms from hawaii, they are very affordable and will arrive in 2 days. orchid shoots in vases and blossoms on table and incorporated into the cake.
  2. I love your first idea, especially the rose petals on the table. I would suggest using nice fake roses and filling the bottom of the vase with the clear morbles or rocks. My daughter did that and then put three small crystal candle votives around the vase. The reflection of the candle light against the clear marbles or rocks was beautiful. We also purchased disposable cameras for each table and put a note on each table with the camera with a cute verse asking the people to take pictures of each other at the table and of the reception. The pictures were amazing, funny and candid. We made doubles and triples of some of the special pictures and included specific pics of people in their thank you card. We got a great response from that because many times people never get to see the pics they take with these cameras. Blessings to you and yours -
  3. my make sure get crazy wedding cake is different layout
  4. pink roses are cool. if its at night, buy flower lights (little lights that run off watch batteries) and put them in the buds. Adds an ambiance that is really romantic, and they last longer than candles.
  5. That sounds really great! I think the pictures are a nice touch.
  6. that sounds cute...you can get some cute (cheap) frames and then the guests can take home the pictures as a memento or favor. you can also order personalized m&m's with pink and black as the color and you can even get them printed with your names or little sayings. just go to www.m&m.com or something like that google it and you should be able to find the web site. I've also sen some dramatic center pieces where the flower arrangements are actually under water. I got married in the fall (October) and we had little lanturns with little votive candles and silk autum leaves on our tables. candles just give every thing a soft glow. And we put disposable cameras on the table for the guest to take candid pictures of the reception...beacuse sometimes they can catch little moments that a professional wouldn't. Just make sure you tell every one to drop the cameras off in a bin or something before they leave! You can get the cameras personalized too! Congrats on your marriage and I wish you many years of happiness!!
  7. you could also put little round or square mirrors underneath the vases and candles. I did almost exactly what you have in mind and it looked great. I also used a little irredescent glitter and confetti for a little sparkle.
  8. I think the pink roses in vases with rose petals on the table and the votive candles would be just grogeous. However, I wouldn't put the photos as it might be a bit much. Remember, simple is elegant so don't over do it by trying to put heaps of things on the table as there should be one focus, i.e the vase of flowers with the others two small things complenting it. But other than that, that sounds as though you will have beautiful tables!
  9. Hi. I love the idea with the pink roses in the square vases and rose petals. I would leave it at that. BUT, on the cake table and guest book table, why don't you put the pictures of you and your fiance. I think it would be too much to put all of it on the regular tables. Good luck!
  10. I just got married and had pink roses too! Pink is such a great color to coordinate with. Here are some ideas: A Pink Wedding: http://www.erinhessionphotography.com/blog/uploaded_images/Kathy&Charlie-747350.jpg http://niralimagazine.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/06/deepika-rick-7.jpg http://www.bbjlinen.com/Site/gallery.cfm?galid=1&galsubid=5&phgid=183&ViewAllCat=0 Wedding Cake: http://www.elegantweddingrentals.com/picture_library/cakeplateau.jpg http://www.myfsn.com/images/myfsn_users/2125823505/cake5-sized.jpg Favors: http://www.berries.com/jump.jsp?itemID=303&itemType=PRODUCT&path=1%2C2%2C5%2C37&iProductID=303 http://sophiesfavors.com/ribbows_grosgrain_bluepink_sub.jpg Instead of a guest book, I had a wedding wish jar. In a large glass vase tied with a ribbon filled with pink rose petals, my guests wrote down their best wishes for my marriage. It was wonderful to read afterwards! At the guest check-in table, I put pictures of my fiancee and I as children, our family and engagement pictures with rose petals put around. This might be a great place for you to put the black and white pics of you two!
  11. That sounds cute already! Put on each table a souvenir and a camera so people can take pictures of each other.
  12. I like your centerpiece idea. I think it reminds me of something I saw on The Knot. I'm not sure about the picture in the frame too. I mean, it is your wedding day. But, it seems like trying to hard to make the day all about you. People are going to see you in person. Save the engagement photos and such for the placecard table and for the guest book table.
  13. I like both ideas, although I do think you might have a bit much going on. Here are some other ideas that you might use to complement the great idea you have: http://www.aolcdn.com/ch_style/he-potpourri-150 http://www.wedding-flowers-guide.com/images/floating-heart-candle-cente.jpg http://www.something-special.net/Pictures/delgado%20centerpieces.jpg
  14. Sounds beautiful and very classy. Just be careful with the candles and flowers together...I have heard many stories about flowers catching on fire because the candles were too close to the flowers...or worse a someone bending down and catching their hair on fire.

  16. The flowers are a fine idea, but don't bother with the pictures. They will see you in the flesh.
