Craft ideas for table decorations, I have materials you tell me what to make?

I'm trying to save money on my wedding and make my own wedding table decorations. We have a red theme for the wedding and also roses. As the weddign is at Easter we also have lots of Mini eggs. I have brought red plates and red bowls to go on the plates which I thought the mini eggs could go in, and I thought i could put flowers around the bowl, unfortunately getting the amount of flowers needed (artificial) could get expensive. Has anyone got any ideas over how I could decorate these bowls and plates, all ideas welcome.

1. how about trying to make red roses by yourself... can make them with ribbons... which shouldn't be that expensive to go with the egs you could make2 tiny red birds with little eyes and wings...you could dye cotton red and roll it into tiny balls and then stick on the googly eyes you get in crafts stores and then add tiny paper wings and beaks and legs (look for a stencil on the internet) you can add red confetti in the bowl (or gold confetti)
2. What about a side of each bowl having some roses and some ribbon-like an accent. Set the eggs in some straw-or even light moss You can get that straw colored stuff) also it would look neat to put some on theplate so it sticks out around the bowl base. What about a little bird on the edge of the bowl with the rose and buds?
